Rohit? He has played 36 Test matches, 20 of them away. In those away Test matches, he averages 27 with ZERO centuries. I think that’s a long enough run. And that’s just not good enough for your opener in away conditions, where india have to win consistently to be the best for any length of time.

I’m not doubting his ability to make big runs at home, but india have to stop taking him on tours.

But I accept that he won’t be dropped anytime soon so it’s a moot point.

You can't really say if he's a good opener or not in away conditions off the back of two tests in Australia where he averaged 30+.

A left-arm spinner bowling round the wicket to a RHB, pitching it clearly outside off. If the ball straightens properly, it misses, if it straightens just tiny bit (which was the case), chances are the impact is outside. Not plumb at all, imho.
