Not writing him off at all, neither is this about rash strokes. Rather that his game atm seems more suited to the ball coming on to the bat somewhat predictably.

Well, that too but I don't mind giving a young strokemaker some leeway in that regard. It's that he's looked all-around patchy in defence throughout this series and it's felt more like a "timing" issue. At first I thought it might be a hangover from Australian wickets, but we're deep into the home series now for it to be just that.
