*Official* 3rd Test at the Sardar Patel Sports Complex, Ahmedabad, 24 - 28 Feb 2021

Yes England’s lengthy tail come under real focus now after losing four wickets in that tough opening session. Two big partnerships needed here for England in order to get a foothold in this Test.

The last minute renaming of this stadium reminds me of the Burj Khalifa renaming

All throughout it's construction it was referred to as Burj Dubai, so much so that the MTR, Bus Stops and road signs near it all referred to 'Burj Dubai'.

Then on the unveiling the Sheikhs announced that it was to be called Burj Khalifa, as a thank you to Sheikh Khalifa for helping to bail Dubai out of their ongoing financial crisis

The next day all the MTR, Bus stops and signage had 'Burj Khalifa' taped in paper over the original name lol

That is what you are doing. Everyone gets a bat, sure, but you don't win games without taking 20 wickets 95% of the time.
....

I have no clue what you're trying to say. I said a third spinner (e.g Sundar) is not going to give you enough of additional wicket-taking ability for the limited amount of overs he will likely get to bowl.

And I am saying that it is still a better option on a turning track to have the extra spinner, than the extra seamer or the extra batsman.

Coz the 6th batsman is not as useful as an extra wicket taking option in tests a lot of the time. Cue my arguments from our NZ tour thread.
But what everyone is trying to tell you that he is not a wicket-taking option cause he likely won't bowl enough...

(and he's not that good of a spinner)

The pink ball isn't as visible on this broadcast as it is in England and Australia tests. Is that due to production value, the lighting at the ground, or is the SG pink ball less shiny than Dukes/Kooka?
Think it's due to the colours of the pitch and the outfield. The verdant green outfields in Australia and especially England offer a greater contrast for the pink of the ball than the sandy-coloured grass here.

Yea but you're kinda missing that Sundar can bat. Who would you have picked otherwise? A 3rd quick lengthens the tail. Maybe KL Rahul or someone could have beefed up the batting further, but then we have no one in the top 6 who can bowl 10 overs a day to lighten the load on the main 4 if needed.

If Pandya was fit i'd have picked him over Sundar tho, even if we take the stance that both of them would produce equal output wit the bat. Just because the pink ball does h00p a bit.

But maybe it won't do as much here.

Yeah, the guy who got 3 in the first dig in Gabba is not that good, sure.

And nice of you to assume you speak for "everyone"

Kohli should learn to bowl

Have to consider the dew negating swing too. And essentially, he is just replacing Jaddu while he is injured.
