*Official* 2nd Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 13 - 17 Feb 2021

do we need to prepare a similar pitch to negate whatever pink ball advantage that anderson might give eng in the d/n test

Bumrah may cause as much carnage.
nah bumrah is nowhere near as good as anderson atm

the guy is a master

i remember zaheer's purple patch as a bowler where he was unplayable for lefties for about 5 years. anderson has that against everyone and has had it for like a decade

bumrah is someone who's capable of great spells. anderson is someone who guarantees great spells.

(clouderson jokes coming during the 4th test)

Is it still 2-2 for Australia to make WTC? If things can contrive to go into the last test with India win = India WTC, England win = England WTC and neither win = Australia WTC, that would be great.

This guy commenting on crapinfo knows what's up:

Ajax: "Yesterday, England were 105-6 before folding for 134. Today, India went from 106-6 to 286! There's runs to be made on this pitch with application!"
Who’s this actually directed towards? Is Vaughan a member on here?

Nah that's not possible unfortunately.

England has to win the series 3-1 from here i.e win both of the remaining games.

India has to win one more and at least draw the other. This means all 3 teams won't be in contention come the last game.

Australia needs a drawn series like 2-2 or England winning 2-1.

I believe 2-2 is on the cards here given day night test will favour England. So Australia is still well in the mix.

It's been a poor performance from England after a badly thought out team selection, but being outplayed by a very good side in their own country can happen. The highlight for me so far was a decent sized boisterous crowd creating tension and atmosphere when it became apparent that a century for Ashwin was a possibility. It's been sorely missed at sporting venues in England since the summer.

Whatever it takes!!!
Some proper #notcrosstheline sledging from Pant today:

"Ye Baghvan ka naam leke pitch pe ud raha hai" - He (Dan Lawrence) is taking the Lord's name and going down the track (to Ashwin)

"Ye Ollie Pope ko Lolli Pop dho" - Give Ollie Pope a Lollipop.

Somehow found this incredibly funny in the original Hindi form.

Paine should learn from Pant.

Okay so while most of the top.order has clicked one way or other for India, I still think they are still a bit far from their best, barring Rohit

Gill - Seems to have his first reality check with an unplayable Anderson delivery. Of course his talent is precocious. Also slight concerns with regard to his approach to spin on spin friendly pitches.

Kohli - played two exceptional 2nd innings innings' but haven't gone and made a bug daddy 100.

Pujara - Half of his dismissals have been utterly unlucky so got to cut him some slack. Good thing is he has been positive in his approach.

Pant - Need to score big 100s should be the next step in his evolution.

Rahane - Biggest disappointment. It begs belief how he continues to get selected in the world's best team despite let downs after let downs. Of course he has that minimum talent which ensures he gets that 100 once in a Blue moon but just cannot be a factor in home tests. Vihary was the logical choice to replace him but he is injured. India cannot continue to waste a precious batting spot by continuing to play him.
