Is this pitch much different to the rank turners that we played on in Bangladesh a few years ago? Just we are up against a far better side capable of taking advantage of the conditions and giving us a stuffing. Everyone said those pitches were fun as it made for a close match both times just this time the side who know the conditions better have used them brilliantly.
Lol you’re being too kind. How do you produce two such different decks at the same toilet of a venue within a week? It’s a piss take.

Rohit & Pant played brilliantly plus the Indian bowlers have been better on the whole but it doesn’t take away from the fact that this pitch is poor

Be like turning up to the Gabba or Trent Bridge to play on a surface that hasn’t been mowed for days

Same for both but still ****

The 1st test's pitch gave an unfair advantage to the team batting first, but here it was turning right from the first over..
If your spin bowlers are not competent enough, you can't blame the pitch..
Ind doesn't complain when aderson and broad runs through our sides in Lords and oval..
It's simply the bowlers pickup much beter skills and nuances when you bowl on certain type of pitches their whole life..
This kind of cry baby, knee jerk comments are cringe worthy from a former great batsman..
should be ashamed of himself for such comments ?‍♂

The Gabba yes because it’s in Brisbane and therefore pathetic like Chennai, but this is unfair on Trent Bridge. If you’d said Birmingham I’d have got on board

That is the point though, it is a poor pitch but the Bangladesh pitches were poor and evened it up.

I seem to remember we did the not mowing trick at Lord's a few years back and India beat us anyway.

Really? Sure Anderson would probably have bowled better than Broad but Bess could easily have been worse than Moeen.
Moeen's looseness gave India at least 50 runs more than they should have directly and probably a lot more indirectly because of how difficult he made it to build pressure. He wasn't, like, terrible, but it's a fair proposition to believe that Bess's control would have been better on balance. Not that we'll ever know.

Good luck getting Vaughan or the English tabloid stable to come out as hard about pitches like Lord's 2014, Trent Bridge 2015 or Headingley 2019 though if their metric is "too hard to bat on Day 1, gives too much advantage to the team that wins the toss".

Unless someone started scuffing up the pitch before the game started, team batting first have access to a much better surface, even if its two sessions

i don't really get why england are so reluctant to play broad and anderson together overseas. if they're similar bowlers then all right arm fast medium bowlers in test cricket are the same.

in saying that, stone was good. he has a future.
