The Wheel is Forever
Remember when some people wanted to drop Rohit?

Remember when some of those same people were bitching about him scoring easy runs on a road yesterday?

Imagine the hole India would be in without him.
That was me. I remember. He did well, of course.

However: 6,21,26,52,44,7,6,12,161. If you look at his history, there's just too many low scores interspersed with some big scores. He had a fantastic tour when SA came around but other than that, he lives at <50 scores.

I maintain India are better without him overall and I stand by that.

You are free to stand by your provably incorrect statement.

Whatever it takes!!!
Also not great captaincy by Root. I feel the captaincy is not so much Root's gut feel as it is some kind of "based on data" that was decided before hand. If you trust Root to do a better job against the tail and Pant than your lead spinner on such a track, you are in trouble.

Getting Stone though made so much better sense.

For us to be better off with him failing and getting dropped means we lose this game, probably the series and miss out on the WTC final. So the person coming in would have to make up for that by helping us win in England or something which I doubt any of the guys waiting in line are up to.

Look if they wanted to pick him for home games only, I would have much less problems with that. But that's not the way they do things. I'd rather someone new get a string of 15s and 24s than Rohit.
