Don't listen to the narrative of the mainstream media.
You're gonna have to say the C word if you want to bait me with this.

Rahane averages 50+ at home since 2019. Look into it.
That's only six Tests, and in those six Tests the rest of the Indian top 7 has averaged 67. I don't think it's really smashed any paradigms. I definitely think that if Rahane is going to either play all of the Tests or none of them then the former option should be continued, and horses for courses batting changes aren't really a thing, but I half-seriously wonder if there might be a better way.

Tbf Rahane did average 71 in the 2019 home season. Just had a stinker last game.

Which means his run was not extraordinary but he still has had excellent returns at home in the most recent home season and has credit in the bank for more games.

Any chance kohli of losing captaincy if Ind loses this series badly..? If so, I am okay with Ind losing this series, if it means kohli finally steps down from his unimaginative captaincy.. Apart from that one test series win in Aus (even that without Smith/Warner in oppn), I don't remember one big Victory (apart from home) and no ICC trophies.. Enough with this.. I think we are never to going win any Cup with his as captain. will be happy if I am proven wrong but don't see it happening..

Also these are the returns of Indian batsman in 2020.

Rahane has had 3 bad games in 2021 after a 2019 where he averaged 71 and 2020 where he was India’s only respectable batsman.

ya’ll need to calm down

He has strong connections who would not want him to be dropped like when MSD was the test captain.

These are away games though. That totally misses the point.

Whatever it takes!!!
so sunilz has a multi?

Anyways, the ball Virat got out to was so gun and so Moeen as well, to bowl that ball and then bowl a full toss next. I am more disappointed with Puji's shot there, the ball pitched and was turning away from his pad, why get the bat involved FFS at a last minute poke? I would rather see a batsman play a proper stroke, even a defensive one and get caught at slip.

The turn is sharp, the pace is good and the bounce is true and decent. It might just have been a great toss to lose for us tbh but its fine. The pitch may deteriorate later.

Butcher and Agarkar are somehow more abysmal on comms than all the junk we have gotten so far this year. I mean, cryiing that a pitch should NOT turn on day 1 as if it is some absolutism is idiocy of the highest order.

It's not so much the turn as the mini explosions they're bitching about. Can see their point tbh. Super disconcerting for a batsman to see that and make any sort of judgement on how the ball's going to behave.

True, but objectively Kohli being an emotional guy spending all his energy in the field trying to abuse the oppn players (even his team mates). Captain should be a calm person who spends his time thinking about the match situation, analyze them and form planst to win the game then and there.. think on your feet, literally.. If you spend all your time in the fielddoing thetrics and to appear like a warrior or something in TV, you dont have time to think about anything else.. Lot of time, kohli simply acts like he is acting out in a movie or something.. this works out great when you play well.. But when not in form, it looks so pathetic :(

A lot of times top surface looks explosive when you use the black soil here but if the red soil is used underneath pitch will still hold up fine. It is just a way to get the ball to turn more but as long as the bounce is true and the conditions are same for both sides, the idiots in the comm box and others who go "it cant spin on day 1, baaaahhh" can **** off.

FWIW, I still think pitch is good enough that India will be disappointed if they dont get 350. That is just par here going by how the wicket has played so far.
