I don't think there's that much wrong with playing a reverse sweep in tests these days. They all practice it and know how to play it, and it's a good ploy to move the fielders around and force the bowler to change tactics. Athar will fume though. He loves an old trope about what to do and what not to do. It's all he knows.

I had my irate message to Cricinfo published in their commentary feed, pointing out that just cos he was 1 off 30 doesn't mean he was being responsible, mature or appropriately careful. It was a flat pitch, the bowling wasn't great and he's just ****.
