So happy for the West Indies. Really thought this series would be as ugly as the one dayers, although maybe I was underrating Bangladesh's propensity to really **** the bed in tests at times like against Afghanistan.

the whole bowling attack seems to rely on the pressure Shakib can build from one end. Taijul was economical today but didn't bowl the right lengths consistently enough

They've certainly missed his bowling, he gives it a much bigger rip than the others. Though I think the 'dustbowl and four finger spinners' approach probably needs tweaking anyway.

Bangladeshi cricket over the last ten years, sans Shakib, has done more than most things in cricket to really convince me of the centrality of mentality, even at the expense of quote-unquote "talent" and quantifiables at times. They have absolutely no right to be giving up results like this still.

Delighted with that, signs of promise on the tour from Mayers but was not expecting that, only at 130 to win did I even convince e myself a win was more then a faint possibility - to not only go big but go big and stay there to the end salute to you Mayers. Hopefully can at the very least put in a commendable performance in the 2nd Test but Hosein in the ODIs and Mayers in the test side (perhaps a consideration for ODIs too) are good things longer term to have come from this tour already
