You can't drop Pant but he really is not a Test standard keeper. Playing Saha + Pant might be the way to go.
I've thought this, but at full strength I don't really see how it'd work at the moment. Jadeja is now basically a lock as an allrounder, so to play Saha you'd need to either drop Ashwin or Rahane... and I don't see that happening.

Could've possibly played instead of Washy this game given the injuries, but that would've meant a lot of Rohit overs. At 600/8 you don't really hindsight-select a keeper instead of bowling allrounder very often.

Well I don't think you play both Jadeja and Ashwin away. If you're talking home and you want to go with two spinners, I would do Jadeja, Ashwin, Ishant and Bumrah.

Impressive first innings effort from England, obviously. I stand somewhere in between the thoughts that that is a better effort than I anticipated from us and that we’re probably not quite as far ahead (with the time remaining in the Test) in order to be confident of forcing a positive result.

That’s not meant as too negative, if you’d have told me during last summer this batting line-up would be making 550+ in the opening Test in India, however long it took, I’d have snatched your hand off!

Really interested to see how our spinners go today and for the rest of this Test. I expect Leach to be the more consistent, more economical and probably more threatening than Bess. However, I anticipate minimal success and still think Jimmy, Archer and Stokes may be our best route to finding the first 10 wickets needed here.
