Pitch & playing conditions for Round 1 matches will be posted once all squads have been finalised.

Press Release from WICB:

There’s been a delay in naming the final squad of 15. This is due to COVID restrictions and some players under quarantine. There’s been an outbreak of the South African strain in Berbice, Guyana. Clayton Lambert’s availability is hampered due to this.

We will update on this developing situation soon.

Chairman of Selectors,
WICB

West Indies Squad Announcement

The selectors come together and after hours of deliberation, they have selected a 15-man squad which they feel is capable of winning the ICC Sim League XI.
They will be led by Richie Richardson; Courtney Walsh will be his deputy.
After a COVID scare, opening batsman Clayton Lambert finds himself in the squad, he is expected to be the backup opener to Sherwin Campbell and Stuart Williams. Phil Simmons is the other opener selected, he adds variety in the team with his seam-ups, if needed in the attack.
World record holder, Brian Lara is part of a formidable batting which boast the likes of Richardson, Carl Hooper, Jimmy Adams, and youngster Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
Vice captain Walsh is expected to lead an impressive bowling attack filled with speedsters Curtly Ambrose, Ian Bishop, and Benjamin duo of Winston and Kenny. Hooper, Chanderpaul, and Adams being the spin options.
The choice for wicketkeeper was a simple one, Junior Murray gets the nod over David Williams and Courtney Browne.

The players will participate in a mini-camp prior to the start of the championship. This will be in Antigua and practice matches will take place at the Antigua Recreation Ground.

Squad:
1.Richie Richardson (captain)
2.Courtney Walsh (vice captain)
3. Sherwin Campbell
4. Stuart Williams
5. Clayton Lambert
6. Brian Lara
7. Shivnarine Chanderpaul
8. Jimmy Adams
9. Carl Hooper
10. Junior Murray (wk)
11. Ian Bishop
12. Winston Benjamin
13. Kenny Benjamin

@jimmy101 - if you'd like to avoid having a bye in each round, I'm happy to run a "best of the rest" squad from the unpicked players.
WTC set to expand to 10 teams

In something of a surprise move the ICC has accepted a last minute bid to join the World Test Championship from a composite "World XI" team comprised of previously unselected players. The World XI team is expected to be based in England. A full list of players eligible for the World XI is set to be revealed following the announcement of the South African squad by head selector @GoodAreasShane. The ICC also stated that a revised tournament schedule will be released shortly.
