Is This India's Greatest Test Series Victory Overseas?

Contextually, this may be the greatest Test series ever played. Movie producers should be eyeing this what with so much material to work with.

This is probably the series result I've been most impressed with in my entire time following test cricket, it's a truly stunning achievement. An absolutely wonderful series to follow, I never thought I could get so invested in a neutral series!

Bollywood style movie?

Russell Crowe playing Tim Paine, in a scene in the 3rd test he bursts into song and dance with the catch little ditty called "Wait 'til we get you to the Gabba" with actors portraying Wade and Marnus high-kicking into the dance while barking like Yorkshire Terries.

Honestly this could be India's West Indies 1995 series.
No. Oz beat a WI team that hadn't lost in 15 years and both teams were more or less at full strength (wi was only missing Bishop). After that series, it was definitely a passing of the baton; the once undisputed no 1 team passing on the mantle to the new alpha.

This series had an Indian that got creamed in NZ, got bowled out for 36, lost most of its front line players but still beat a middle of the pack Oz team. What is impressive (scary for Oz) is that not only were India not at full strength and playing away but the Indian fielding was the most atrocious that I've ever seen. And they still won. This series was definitely an upset and completely unexpected but not a passing of the baton ala '95 in the WI.

All under the cloud of a global pandemic...that should be a major asterisk.

Things aren't "back to normal"...the bubble life still exists.

Yeah but no asterisk this time. If anything , Oz could've had an asterisk if they won for reasons already mentioned. But they lost and nobody is going to take this hard earned win from India. Nope not those time...

India really ought to have done better in NZ particularly in that 2ns test where they had a real opening.

While I don't see the parallels with the 1995 Frank Worrell series, this series should certainly spur India onto bigger things

They have tours lined up to England and Saf. Provided they can get most of their first choice side on the park, they should be extremely disappointed if they don't get positive results (win or draw) in both those tours.

India have been getting progressively better since March 2000 - reckon they have a real shot at winning in both England and Sa.
India have struggled in England since 20¹¹ but I just feel a full strength India will really test England over there this time.

India I think should have the quality to beat the current SA side, but I still think the vulnerability of their batsmen to seam and swing will make them underdogs in England. If Lord Colin de Bighouse can make Kohli look like a club batsman on a green surface then I expect Anderson and Broad to do the same.
