Selectors never selected them when they were at the peak of their careers. Now they have lost pace & bowl at Ellsye Perry's pace.

on the other hand, we have Haris Rauf, Musa, Hasnain & Naseem who have pace but are not Test quality.

Pakistan has a ton of fast bowlers. I don't think desire is an issue. They just suck at maintaining them.

To be fair Amir and Asif would have both easily been 200+, possibly even close to double that had they not been a bunch of fixers. So the issue isn't that Pakistan cricket cannot produce good fast bowlers, the issue is :

1. They were cheating fixers who got themselves banned and jailed.
2. As cnerd123 says, we don't really stick with players and get impatient with them too quickly.

Imran Butt didn't impress with batting but he is a specialist slip fielder. He took 6 imp. catches in this series. Selectors should persist with him or at least keep him in the squad as a sub fielder.

Very telling that our one performing pace bowler is the one Waqar has had no time to work with. Now, Waqar will make some adjustments to his action (just like what he did with Naseem) & he will go downhill after those adjustments.
PCB should get rid off MisQar asap.

The way he fights & overbowls for his team, Shaheen Afridi, at times, looks like loan brother of Xl sisters.

& he is part of the squad which is touring SA & ZIM later this month. We are playing our full strength team even against Zimbabwe.?‍♂

Since the start of 2015 , no U-21 bowler bowled more overs than Shaheen. Shaheen has bowled 752overs till date & the 2nd on the list, K Rabada had bowled 338overs before turning 21.
