Oh. Some quick googling tells me he's more of a bowler. Have you watched him play?Russel's young bloke is in the Parra Green Shield side this year.
Yeah I love him too for the same reasons. Nicholls, Karunaratne and Elgar all making runs recently was a good time for meHenry Nicholls. I know he averages 44, but reckon 35 would be more reflective of his actual talents. Still a gutsy player who makes up for the holes in his technique with sheer bloody mindedness.
definitely wouldn't call Slater mediocre, otherwise good listAs a kid, was a massive fan of Manoj Prabhakar, Carl Hooper, Graeme Hick, Michael Slater, Adam Parore, Jonty Rhodes.... A veritable who's who of international mediocrity in their main disciplines.
True. Same with Hooper. But so much wasted potential in both IMO.definitely wouldn't call Slater mediocre, otherwise good list
Jonty and Slater harsh calls. As a kid, was a massive fan of Manoj Prabhakar, Carl Hooper, Graeme Hick, Michael Slater, Adam Parore, Jonty Rhodes.... A veritable who's who of international mediocrity in their main disciplines.
Very good. Although a regular in ODIs have to say he never fulfilled his potential overall. Add to that the fixing charges.Jadeja
Also for smashing Warne around even in the face of certain defeat in the 1999 WC along with Robin Singh.Very good. Although a regular in ODIs have to say he never fulfilled his potential overall. Add to that the fixing charges.
But will remain immortal for that one innings vs Pak in WC 96.
Hooper averaged 30 odd didn’t get? I know his offies were handy, but that’s really ordinary for a bloke who played 100 testsTrue. Same with Hooper. But so much wasted potential in both IMO.
Yeah something like 35 with the bat and 48 or 49 with the ball, I think.Hooper averaged 30 odd didn’t get? I know his offies were handy, but that’s really ordinary for a bloke who played 100 tests
Never saw him drop a catch. Ever. He bombed Warne in the ODIs ahead of the 95 test series over there then when the test came he kept getting run out or chipping one in the air off Steve Waugh, unless my memory fails me.Yeah something like 35 with the bat and 48 or 49 with the ball, I think.
Was the most irritating thing. Just think of how good a middle order of Lara, a potential realizing Hooper, Chanderpaul would have been at 3,4 and 5. Felt Phil Simmons wasted a lot of potential too and could have been a long term opener for Windies.Never saw him drop a catch. Ever. He was such a weird player. If you watched him bat you’d think he was an absolute all timer. Then he’d just get out.
