Yeahh Reidy Jansen. He probably won't get in the XI, but so good to see him in the setup
#KarachiNoSpinnyBig Shamsi fan. Hope he has a big tour.
So according to the presser, Abbas was dropped because his 'gameplans' and bowling strategies were found out in NZ, and so they want him to go back and work on a few things before returning. Naeem is apparently injured. Haris Rauf was picked because they couldn't find anyone else in Pak domestix who could bowl really face, with reverse swing, and a godo bouncer. Rauf has the raw materials so joins the squad.Surprised Abbas got dropped. I do think he's kind of done, but given Naseem was rightly dropped too and there's not a lot of depth there I'm kinda of surprised they actually went through with it, especially if their solution was to pick Haris Rauf.
Abdullah Shafique is a massive wtf too.
Tabish probably should have got a game ten years ago.Would I be right in thinking Tabish Khan is basically picked as a like for like Abbas replacement?
Picking an uncapped 36yo seamer does seem pretty strange to me
Should he have been selected in CPL?Tabish probably should have got a game ten years ago.
He bowls skiddy inswingers but he is (or at least was the last time I saw footage of him bowling like five years ago) a fair bit quicker than Abbas. Looked mid 130s.
Wouldn't have been a bad late round selection but his dire 2019 QeA tourament probably rightly turned people off.Should he have been selected in CPL?
Lmao, pretty much. They were also talking about prioritising producing specialists for the national team instead of winning at the domestic level with makeshift openers and keepers. Although nepotism is probably a more accurate translation of parchi. He didn't answer the question about resigning at all.@nightprowler10 @trundler can you translate this bit for me, my urdu isn't the best:'
Timestamp 32:15 for the question, and 34:30 for the asnwer.
The way I understand this exchange, the journalist asks Waseem if the selectors will take bribes anymore, and if anyone is caught taking bribes they will resign. Waseem ducks the question by responding "Don't worry, I can justify all the selections we make". Is that really what happened, or is my urdu bad? Because if so, that's ****ing incredible.
haha the balls of the chief selector to publicly state that he's smart enough to justify all the corrupt selections they're going to make during his leadership. WAG.Lmao, pretty much. The ppt and the way he answered that question makes me think he has some management consultant working for him. Anyone recall @Daemon recently stating he has changed jobs?haha the balls of the chief selector to publicly state that he's smart enough to justify all the corrupt selections they're going to make during his leadership. WAG.
Parchi is more along the lines of an order from a higher up that x must play. It's nepotism usually with a threat of an ouster if orders are not followed. I think he was trying to convey that he is willing to be accountable for all the selections. Probably the best way to answer such a loaded question tbh.haha the balls of the chief selector to publicly state that he's smart enough to justify all the corrupt selections they're going to make during his leadership. WAG.
I don't they we will play Imran. Saud deserves to be selected, so I think Azhar will be promoted to open again. Sajid may play instead of Nauman as well as he spins it the other way to Yasir, but I feel the South Africans may struggle more with the ball turning away.I'm guessing something like this:
1. Abid
2. Imran
3. Azhar
4. Babar
5. Fawad
6. Rizwan
7. Faheem
8. Hasan
9. Nauman
10. Yasir
11. Shaheen
