Still can't see this as anything more than 1-1 though. Simply not enough time left in the match.

One observation the commentators made today was that reverse swing has been missing because of covid regulations relating to saliva. Bit of a shame really. Would like to see Cummins emulate McGrath's reverse swinging yorkers too. That's one string his predecessor has on him.

jaysus this has to be the worst australian series performance in recent memory. a side not noted for touring the pace bowling nations very well is half dead and still constantly slapping aus in the face by still being in the series.

thakur is a hack ffs just get him out. trust the ****in australians to choke in the one series im supporting them. you're fast becoming the english in terms of how useful you are to anyone including yourselves.

you had one job - smash some indians away from home. do we need to put a silver fern, a sri lankan lion or that lame ecb logo on the indian caps to help you remember you're the supreme home track heroes of world cricket and give you the boost you need to score 650/3 declared?

you have probs the best batsman i've seen in my life and maybe the third best quick and you still can't put this lot away.

stop giving these ***** points goddammit. do you want to pump nz in the wtc final or not? get it together. hard but fair. the line. aussie aussie aussie etc etc

Green has been such an asset for Aus this series. Plays out deliveries, bowls tidy overs, takes great catches. Cashed in on some downhill skiing last Test, played a decent knock this Test. Good find.

I really hope this is not the last we see of Washington Sundar at Test level.
Green is honestly bit of a joke as a bowler. Very underwhelming.

But a very very promising batsman.

I assume rubbing sweat on the ball is banned for the same reason?

Actually the joke is on the Indian top order muppets. A benign pitch, tired Aus bowlers and just needed a bit of resolve to bat each delivery.

Instead these muppets are resorting to some formulaic batting and even patting down hit me balls diligently for dots. And not making starts count as well.

Pujara and Rahane don't deserve to bat anywhere near each other.

Ok so you bastards talking about Indian meant I ordered some tonight. Tandoori chicken followed by medium lamb korma and a garlic and cheese naan which was heavy on the garlic and cheese. Almost as satisfying as watching the cricket all day.
And not as likely to give you the shits as watching Pujara block full tosses for a couple of sessions.

Interesting - I'd have thought you could get much more "fluid" from sweat than saliva. But maybe that's just because I'm very unfit.
There’s a difference between using sweat and saliva. The former softens the ball and makes it a bit heavier, the latter is better to keep it hard and shiny which you’d want for reverse.

I dunno but Cummins was talking about it today after play.

also, it generally doesn’t reverse much at the Gabba as the outfield is so lush and the turgid, fetid air at australias chennai isn’t really conducive to it
