*Official* England in Sri Lanka 2021

Curious what the lowest completed innings score has been with a double hundred in it. Can't be too many lower than 421, having one batsman scoring more than half the runs is unusual in itself and typically I associate it with much lower scores than 400+
Dunno how up to date that is but a reasonable amount of completed on there

Here's a 417 but I've got no idea what a good way to look for it is

Really did not feel like one of those innings for most of it either, all happened this morning. Either way a seriously brilliant innings.

I remember Lara scoring a beauty in Sri Lanka some years back and it beats the mark set here.I'm pretty sure it's not the record though.

Oh,and just for good measure Lara still wasn't satisfied and decided to clobber a 2nd innings 130 to boot.

Even lower: Sehwag carried his bat for 201* out of 329 against Sri Lanka at Galle in 2008

That appears to be the record:

Jeetan Patel just got a shoutout from the comms.

When's the last time an SL test had a real crowd to match this canned one?

Feels like Sam Curran has an almost Watling-esque aversion to stats-padding downhill skiing. He never seems to score easy runs.

It's weird because with Watling his game isn't suited to slogging so his average-sapping 5 (7) is as inevitable as it is tragic, and you wonder why NZ insist on sending him out when they're looking for quick declaration runs. SCurran on the other hand should be the perfect guy for those situation as he always scores his runs quickly with lots of boundary hitting. But whenever he comes out with the pressure off and a license to swing merrily he seems to get out straight away.

Feel KJP is a no win situation - gets shoehorned in as an opener and you’d probably think he gets dropped if he fails, deserves a regular middle order spot. Could see him getting in the ICC top 10 long term if he batted there consistently.

Not a hugely promising sign if our main spinners are going to look less threatening than Root.
