4th Test at the Gabba, Brisbane, 15 - 19 Jan 2021

So basically had Pant got out earlier, none of this **** posting would have ensued. It so happens Aus keeper could keep and Pant swung his way out of pain to get a 97. His behaviour was consistent with injured players who try to hit everything out of their way.

Its easier to play like Pant than like Vihari did with injuries. To eschew all movement and strokes and work against own programming was incredible to see.

I didn't say I agreed with what he said, I said it's not unreasonable for people who don't want subs to use it as an example. Like I said, the rule is fine afaic, but could do with a bit of tampering around when/ what number a player in that situation, be it a keeper or a fieldsman, can bat.

Man, I remember the 80s when Gordon Greenidge used to regularly not field with a hammy injury then come out and blaze a quick fire 80 odd in the second dig when the Windies batted.

Cheating Windies.
That is a reasonable addition to the rule. Sorry if I misunderstood your point.

not to mention forcing a non-specialist to keep when the keeper is injured just opens the door to more injuries anyways
Can't recall this happening in about 150 years of test cricket in the past, primarily because replacing a keeper is such a rare occurrence.

I can. You can't. You are wrong.

One can bat like that if he can't keep. Get you head out of your arse and stop with the condescending tone. I like your posting generally, but this is the pits.
Must’ve been a miraculous recovery to prevent him keeping but allow him to bat as he did. Amazing

Non keepers have kept quite a few times that I recall. Boon and Taylor both definitely did it, and perhaps Hussey once.

Don't see why this is such a big argument. Even if India didn't do it deliberately in any way, they still unarguably got an advantage from it.

Likewise just because they got an advantage from it, doesn't mean it was done deliberately.
