yea im fine with kuggs playing, but given being a sports fan is all about cheering a team or player on i wont blame people for not cheering kuggs

Same, he should be allowed to play cricket, and people should be allowed to protest or boycott any teams he's in.
By protesting how exactly?

I don’t want to take my young boys to the cricket and have some old women with signs condemning Kuggs whilst calling him a rapist, ***ual predator etc. Who wants their 5 year old asking what a rapist is ffs. New Zealand cricket took a lot of heat for kicking her ass out a few years ago but what are they suppose to do.

What does protesting at a ****ing cricket game achieve? Sweet **** all. That particular night you just had a section of the crowd arguing amongst themselves. It was a **** show.

it's the lack of remorse i think that gets people. he was not guilty in the eyes of the law, but he certainly wasn't innocent and sports stars get different treatment to the layman (you or i would be posting this from a small cell in his place). i want the justice system to be rehabilitative where possible so im not one for holding things over people forever but there's no doubt kuggeleijn needs to regain a lot of credit with nz. a simple "i was a terrible bloke" would be a start, but we haven't got one.

i suspect nzc firmly control everything he says to media and probably told him any line deviating from the "im just looking to enjoy my cricket" that he says all the time gets him fired forever.
Sorry, just for clarity when I said the 21-year-old I meant the F1 driver not Kuggeleijn.

I dunno about lack of remorse. In court documents there was a text from him the next morning expressing remorse and suggesting he knew what he had done was wrong, unprompted from memory (I don't think it was in reply to anything from her). But yeah, I get it how potentially the public might have preferred it if he confronted it all through the media or said sorry in public - although I would argue he only owes that to the victim. I'd suggest to you that NZC firmly control things because he is not media savvy, not smart. Hell, his Dad snuck tickets into a Test on live TV.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure you and I would be in jail. It's the sort of situation where justice is not often done in any situation.

That's why an effort to expose and call out all this stuff is important, it's just a huge open secret that no one is willing to talk about, not just sports either.
Yes, it is. And sporting industries need to (and are) address the issues that lie with young, testosterone filled men with a lot of money and not much intelligence who get on the drink (and even without it) and think women should be at their beck and call. It's a major issue. Some of the things that have gone on with some of the most seemingly upstanding sportsmen in our country would make people's skin crawl.

are you saying kane has severed heads in his basement?

and yea, have heard of some dubious mfers in pro and club sport. i guess it's not really the scene where people are gonna get called out as often, whereas other circles attract demographics who will speak up more often (the #metoo movement spread well beyond movies).

I dunno, what did it achieve when the Springboks toured during apartheid?

Not Terrible
How does India's draw today affect things? I understood they needed a lot of wins so good for us?
Bad for us really as the draw does give them some points. Australia winning the last two games would've left India having to whitewash England. Now they may just need to win by 3 matches or so

England will screw us again, they'll probably be able to see us through with a draw in the final test, lose 7 wickets in the final session and the last batsman out in the final over gets timed out, or something.

England will get pumped. Bar Root and Stokes they have nothing with the bat, and Root hasn’t been too flash in test cricket for a little while. If Jack Leach is there first choice spinner still then God help them..

Obviously hope they help NZ out but I really can’t see it happening

India still need 4-0 against England to advance - I redid the numbers in excel (yeah, I know) and NZ will remain 0.0056 pct points ahead of them if the the Australia series ends 2-1 to Aus and the India series ends 3-0.
