let’s remember some guys

Wasn't Mal only called up because he happened to be nearby (well, ish, think he playing in NZ) when Vaughan broke (again)?

Can't be too many Malachys to have played international cricket either.

Loye is just nuts, he almost literally has zero scoring shots (esp boundaries) except the sweep shot. I've just seen this one boundary where he drives the ball, rest are all sweeps for 6/4. Insane.

Is NcCullum good enough to be a guy? Jeez can't believe he played 80+ ODIs. Averages 45+, can't remember anything worthwhile from him.

Nathan Hauritz is the absolute epitome of a 'guy'. Turned up and bowled 10-1-40-1 every ODI. Literally no abiding memory of him doing anything either noteworthy or controversial

Engle

State Vice-Captain
Mahendra Nagamootoo cries ' me too, me too ' for inclusion into the ' guy ' club - we should oblige seeing that his more illustrious relatives could not make it

Not a bad shout. Towards the end of his career, there was actually talk of him playing Test cricket - which was laughable. Just exhibited the lack of decent options we had in the spin department.

To be fair to Nathan, he was pretty good through the middle overs of an ODI even if he wasn't a wicket taking option. Was absolutely outstanding in the 2011 quarter final win over SA opening the bowling, and was a genuinely good T20 bowler. Plus a gun fielder and handy at times with the bat. Would he have played less if his brother wasn't the captain? Maybe.

Nearly made a ton as a nightwatchman one game. Also well known for his resemblance to Finch from American Pie

Yeah, fair. Still don't think was good enough to warrant so many ODIs though, defo benefited from Baz being captain tbh.

I remember when he smashed Herath for 22 off the final over to win a rain shortened odi.
Oh jeez yeah, totally forgot about that. Was such a ****ing gun performance. Guess he is a perfect "guy" then, after all.

Kyle Mills was always insanely overrated on CW. Good new ball bowler obviously, but offered nothing in the middle overs and you literally couldn’t bowl him at the death. I’d say he was a poor mans Matt Henry.
Now this is an all-time stinker of a comment

He was just a guy. Show me his World Cup numbers, what did he do when the lights were the brightest and teams showed up with there strongest XI’s

So you want to rate a guy who played 170 ODIs on the 4 World Cup games he played, where he averaged 17? Well, ok, works for me

Exactly, he played for what 15-16 years and he managed just 4 World Cup games. Obviously he was never looked upon as even one of the better bowlers in the team when it mattered the most.

Tidy ODI record obviously, but it was built on meaningless ODI’s. Given he was only good at one facet of a quick bowlers job, new ball bowling. It’s hard to rate him too high, especially with an incomplete ODI record
