Indian players racially abused at SCG

Lads, I've been racially abused and witnessed Indian supporters copping racial abuse as well as seeing dudes throw full beer cups and other horrible happenings at the SCG and the MCG.

Give it a rest to anyone who doubts Siraj copped something racist. He wouldn't be complaining about if he didn't.

He'd be too busy playing Test cricket.

Edit: throwing full beer cups into Indian sections of the crowd

Whatever it takes!!!
Youre aware of the “Symonds is a monkey” thing, right?

but tbf you’d like to think we’ve all moved on from this sort of **** by now. Fmd it’s as tiresome as it is vile
But that was handled too, they were thrown out as soon as the complaint was made, or am I remembering it wrong?

Key here is to understand what was done after the first report was made, which was apparently yesterday. We need to learn what was said then and whether it was conveyed to the specatators at that stand that something they said was not acceptable. There very well may have been communication barriers and what was intended and what was perceived may well be the difference. But without the full story, just going by what looks like an obvious orchestrated feedback from a certain bunch is not ideal.
I actually think you’re entitled to expect better from spectators - like just don’t be a **** tbh, without having to explain **** to them

make cricket spectators behave like tennis spectators please

wouldn't be too hard to make someone address the different stands before start of play and tell them that interacting with players during the game is prohibited and would lead to expulsion

True, but I mean to say these evictions act as the restraining mechanism too.

The Aussie team pursued the case and it went as far as a judge who cleared Harbhajan.
Nah, you are confusing 2008 maakigate with the 2007 ODI series.

With Ashwin's comments now, I really doubt a senior player would come out with what he's said if it wasn't true. That's my take anyway.

I think we are talking about the preceding series in India as seen on the appalling Gus Worland’s documentary where literally whole bays of fans were chanting it, unfortunately.

At the end of the day I am more than happy for spectators to be removed in this situation. If it transpires later they were not racist and it was a misunderstanding then so be it, they can get an apology and free entry to the next test at the venue.

Ah, right. I've seen the footage. Was so appalled by it.

Taylor will be out LBW twice for scores in the teens, Kane will throw his wicket away and Nicholls will be the only limp resistance offered in both innings. Defeat by 150 runs.

It's happening, and you will never stop it.

You seem to think that I`m okay with some form of verbal abuse? Or do you think that because I live in SA I thought that was okay? I am not a patriotic nationalist. I thought it was disgraceful and I condemned it. I just don't think it should happen at all and for some reason people seem to think it is acceptable in sport. I have never understood that.
No I'm just thinking out loud, not directing all that at you personally lol. Though I see why you might think that. Didn't even know you were South African

Ash coming down hard on the Sydney crowds especially. Makes a good point about the sections of the crowd that sit and laugh at the abuse thrown at the players. They are almost just as bad as the ones who abuse. The enablers.

This is basically what I said earlier, and would solve the problem. Or you don't even have to go that far, just don't yell **** at players. Make that a rule and it goes a long way to preventing this. You won't have the "I didn't think it was racist" defence when saying anything is against the rules.
