Ponting was much more hand eye dependant than Smith imo.

I think they're similar but it was certainly weird of Skull to put Ponting in the Chappell/Hussey category rather than the Smith one.

Interesting, I've never really thought of Ponting's batting as being overly hand-eye dependent. On the pull sure, he rarely got into solid positions but just ****ing nailed them anyways, was great to watch. But rest of his batting felt fairly sound technically to me.
