was the 2019 final the one where northern slowed the deck up to prevent adam milne and co blasting them out and then he did it anyway?

central are the australia of nz - dominant when the ball is travelling through, a bit crap when it's slow. in white ball more than red ball but yea.

matt mcewan is such a tank. this commentary gig better not mean he's retired. a body to rival jesse himself.

im in love.

The game is live on YouTube with commentary. That's cool... The camera is a bit high and hard to see the ball but better than nothing. It's turning square, not enough for CD I suppose. Just been catching up with super smash. ND have lost few games and so has Auckland. Canterbury and Wellington look to be in good form this year.

he's only on 15* but seifert is a level above the other batsmen in this game. i'd feel confident we could roll northern if not for him.

cooper also making a decent start.

every time i see lennox i like him as a white ball spinner for us.

yea he was described as medium fast by nzfan i think(?) but ive seen him a couple of times and even on a slow, used deck he's getting great carry to cleaver.

devcich is going to jam northern to victory isn't he

how he didn't get out in his first 10 balls idk

not smart from tickner, trying to bowl macho on an effeminate spinners pitch.

Come on guys... one bad over or one ball that slipped out of the hand doesn't make him ****.... In that case Ambrose, Akthar, Harmison, Wasim Akram are all **** too? When you have to bowl at near 150k consistently and on a pitch that has been used before with lose footing it's not easy to do that. Saw his come back ball, a searing no pun intended 150k yorker that Seifert couldn't get the bat on to. Knowing Black Caps set up he won't come close to playing for Black Caps till he's like 28. Doesn't the story of Lockie having played only 3 test matches when he's nearly 30 shows we don't pick raw bowlers. Blackcaps management rahter prefer to have stock standard bowlers bowling at 130s and picking up bagful of wickets at home.

Or Sears has to move to Canterbury or ND to get a call up. Living closer to Lincoln or training at ND setup with majority of the Black Caps in the off season helps I suppose.
Yeah and to think picking express bowlers in their early 20's would make most sense. That's when they will bowl at their quickest and be the most effective. 28 is too late of a starting point. Get them in when they are at their quickest and most youthful.

nz must pick their best bowlers for each test. ben sears is not one of our best bowlers yet. with wagner, jamieson and ferguson comfortably in our group of 5 test standard quicks i think we have plenty of initimidation options.

it's interesting you raise lockie ferguson because his odi career was handled perfectly. in tests i feel we were too loyal to southee's cdg imitation phase but whatever.

sears has loads of time on his side. quicks generally hit their stride in their mid 20s unless their birthdays were recorded in the subcontinent. the only thing you'll do by elevating a guy still at risk of spraying it is adam milneing him at best and ben wheelering him at worst.

i wouldn't be opposed to a dead rubber odi or two against bangladesh but there's no way sears plays important games until he's the obvious big dog of wellingtons attack.
