*Official* Pakistan in New Zealand 2020/21

Just catching up on the morning's play, relieved to see Jamieson keeping that test bowling average under 15
None of the others has bowled well though, in helpful conditions. Credit to Azhar nevertheless for leaving well and punishing anything off target.

Henry has started well. And upper 130s too, which (as others have noted) is where he does best.

Too short to finish the over though.
Think increasing his average speed is literally the only thing Henry could realistically do to revive his nearly-dead test career, though it's a very tough ask. Saw his first over this morning and he had zip in the high 130s, but subtract 5-7km/h from that for subsequent spells and it's not enough. If he could somehow operate at 140 with the new ball and mid-high 130s with the older like say Mohammed Shami, that might be interesting.

Not going to happen though.

Rizwan is gun. Normally Pakistan come to NZ with a new crazy good bowler. No slight on their current attack but Rizwan has seemed the star

Southee > Boult pretty clearly on current form. Probably have to go back 18 months plus for a time when Boult was ahead, he got within less than ten of Southee's career wicket tally iirc and looked like he would overtake it. Difference is now 25.
Seemed to remember Boult getting ahead at some stage, so put this together ... Boult got ahead in the last home test of 18/19 and kept the lead for the two tests in Sri Lanka ... Southee ahead since.

They're pinching the quick singles well too, this has been a good counterpunching partnership. NZ need to bowl dry for a bit maybe. (Or, give the ball to Jamieson)

good work, I misremembered - graph shows it hasn't been a great 18 months for Boult though has missed a couple of matches through injury

Rizwan has actually looked shakier this innings than he’s looked all tour imo, but the way he’s going he might snick and flay his way to 100

Having caught the wickets in Pakistan A match I reckon Amad Butt would have been a good punt for a test debut in NZ conditions. Big outswingers, good FC record (123 wickets at 23.6 and batting average 23) - would have been interesting in place of any of Naseem, Abbas or Yasir Shah.

Rizwan's innings has been more like Faheem's from last match, rather than his own. Just edge one to slips pls.
