I think Nattu will end up playing tbh. Shardul is the antithesis of India's bowling plans and Saini is not far behind. I guess they may feel Nattu can hold up an end better than these two and provide some variety. The only issue is the 3 #11s but its not like our earlier #9s were scoring 20s either.

Saini is up and down too, but at least he's got pace and bounce. Natarajan's probably more adaptable and also more likely to stick to plans compared to Saini. Have a good feeling about him if picked, think he'll go as well as Siraj. No idea why Thakur's entered the discussion when we have these two in line.

playing thakur/natarajan over saini would be a mistake imo, the same one the tm did by thinking siraj needed to play white ball cricket before getting fast tracked into the test team. both siraj and saini are used to bowling long spells in domestic cricket unlike nattu, now that we have an all round option of sorts in jadeja we don't need thakur's batting and troll medium pace.

Jadeja in fact walks into the current Aussie team. Based on the evidence of last 3 years, probably as good as Lyon with the ball outside subcontinent and better than any batsman not named Smith and Labushagne. Possibly a better fielder than any one in that team as well.

As I have said before, Australia need to hire Jadeja as a coach as soon as he retires.
