Yeah I think it's already quite clear that you need two gullys (three slips) for Gill honestly. Leave Cover open and get him drivingNone of the edges were catchable today tbf.

Agree to disagree. One went right through where third would have been.None of the edges were catchable today tbf.
Yeah he's a bit loose there. Minimal foot movement means you're always a chance to edge one. Fantastic balance and weight transfer though, really good to watch.Agree to disagree. One went right through where third would have been.
like I said, kid an obvious upgrade and looks very good - I think he has a terrific future - but the idea he’s ready made and really compact outside off at this stage is a tad optimistic
You're right, I'm sure Angela Merkel had the true inside word at lunch today.Lol at you losers relying on info that's not from someone in the know
Easy to say that when he gets dropped all the timeGill has technical deficiencies, all young batsmen do. What impressed me was he showed composure and good shot selection. He wasn't just repeating bad habits and hoping the results change.
he's also batting alongside Agarwal. anyone would look good next to that.Easy to say that when he gets dropped all the time
He's got a touch of the young Steve Smiths about him in that one is back of a length on off he tends to stay leg side of it instinctively and then look to punch it through the off side, which could be a problem on the bouncier tracks in Tests. He deals with the shorter ones on his body fine so I don't think it's a general problem with pace and bounce, but it's definitely something he should work on IMO.Agree to disagree. One went right through where third would have been.

Wade should have gone on as wellThe main issue I had with Australia's batting in this test (and the last) is that it didn't even look lie any of the batsmen had a plan for where their next runs were going to come from. Labuschagne has been consistently Australia's best batsman this series so far and he's looked scratchy af. Wade has been next best but keypad finding ways to get out once set. It's like they've forgotten how to construct an innings.
The best batting passage of play this test and arguably the whole series for Aus was when Labushagne(?) and Wade were breaking up the field with strike rotation yesterday. Everything looked pretty much as it shouldThe main issue I had with Australia's batting in this test (and the last) is that it didn't even look lie any of the batsmen had a plan for where their next runs were going to come from. play aggressive shots without getting out maybe?how do you practice being aggressive in the nets if you have to leave the nets if you're out.
Oh yeah, he looks the goods for sure. Like his composure at the creaseI really rate the guy though.
they can't really be doing this every single net session. I'm sure they have sessions where they can go and practice a particular shot as often as they like in order to hone it. Would be absurd if they didn't.For those that watched 'The Test', the reason Australia's batting is so timid it's because of Langers rule that if your out in the nets you have to rotate out.
Khawaja was right to call him on it, how do you practice being aggressive in the nets if you have to leave the nets if you're out.
Heh. No. Not more than most players, that is. His balance is great.Gill got lucky
He’s a nicker outside the subcontinent with that technique
