Nah the 80s was way way way worse than this.Never have I seen a more pitiful effort from an Australian batting lineup. Not even the dark depths of the 80s were as bad as this. Atrocious stuff.

he's also potentially got Tendulkar as a father-in-lawGill is a legend in the making. Felt much the same abt Rohit all those years ago, but there's a hunger about Gill and an eagerness to learn. Still needs to tighten up outside off but **** me he has no ceiling if he does.
nah come on hobart vs SA was muuuuch worse than this. in that test much, it genuinely felt like they'd forgotten that you actually have to play at balls on your stumps. That series had extenuating circumstances. This time there is no excuses. Heads need to roll, starting with Langer's. Rubbish coach.
yeah and you could come up with a whole stack of home batting performances which was worse than this in the last decade alone. this isn't the same league as 98ao, for example.Nah the 80s was way way way worse than this.
Yea Rahane captained excellently. Holding back Siraj until the 2nd session on Day 1, letting the other senior bowlers take the pressure first and letting him find his feet gradually. Some of the fields he set were clever too, and he seems to get good results out of Ashwin.Who needs Kohli. Rahane for president.
The Voges dismissal man, the Voges dismissal.nah come on hobart vs SA was muuuuch worse than this. in that test much, it genuinely felt like they'd forgotten that you actually have to play at balls on your stumps.
i think that test match has the only instance i can recall of someone walking for an lbw.The Voges dismissal man, the Voges dismissal.
Spot on. Kohli is a great batsman but simply too emotional to be an effective captain. However he has an enormous ego so unlikely he will step aside for Rahane.rahane suits the character of this team much more than kohli imo. i wonder if kohli being so intense and so emotionally over the top actually puts more pressure on the players than is necessary and that makes them a bit more tentative than they need to be sometimes. certainly this is the most tactically disciplined indian performance i've seen in a very long time, maybe since... the last time rahane was stand-in captain, actually.
It really wasn't. At least not from a batting perspective. We have now gone 4 innings in a row with a maximum score of 200. That never happened in the 80s. Our bowling is way better than it was back then but this batting is woeful. It really is inexcusable. Not even the mighty Windies teams got on top of our batting this badly.Nah the 80s was way way way worse than this.
I feel like we should just open with Vihari or even Pujara and stick Rohit down at 5. Need someone to eat up some deliveries and Vihari has shown he can stick around.Rohit is gonna come in for the next test. No idea how he is going to go. Can't be worse than Mayank though
@GoodAreasShane didn't pick Nintendo for your multi, well-played.Aussie Xi for the 3rd test
