i literally don't think they're allowed to pick usman, that's the thing. he's not in the biosecure bubble and i'm pretty sure he'd have to quarantine for 14 days before being available. could be wrong though.
What are the rules assuming he is moving bubble to bubble from the BBL to the tests? Also, is it a hard 14 day Quarantine in NSW too?

wade does seem to channel all the napoleon stereotypes into one man, like he's trying to bring all the rage into himself to ease the eternal fire of his brethren.

warner's gonna take up yoga and mindfulness any day now.

Smith will be fine. The problem with him seems to be that either his fanboys are crowing he is the best since Bradman when he is doing well and then when he is not doing well, his haterz are out crowing he is just an Adam Voges who got lucky over 70 tests. He is one of the ATG batsmen at the test level and he will figure out how to make runs again, hopefully after this series.
Voges however, was good and the quintessential example of batting qanoner revisionism.

I have been saying before that my gut feeling is that Marnus will be a better #5 long term than #3. Head has enough upside that I wont draw a line through him but he does need some time away from the internationals to figure out his batting plans. In an ideal world, a second opener will emerge for Australia and they can go -

Warner
2nd opener (say, Wade for now)
Khawaja
Smith
Labuschagne
Green/Head
Paine
NSW bowlers

Not taking the piss, but what do you see as Head's upside? Because I'm struggling to see anything.

His weakness can be improved upon with practice. He has that rare skillset that can enable a batsman to play long at the highest level, that extra millisecond of time to play the ball. Right now, he seems loose outside the offstump, and if he can get over that esp. when he is in his 20s or 30s, I think he will be a solid middle order batsman, who can also contribute useful overs.

this from you? the gnske i thought i knew would be all about the upsides of head.
I think it's a terrible thing to do to a person actually

I'll give you that, compared to how he started when he was like 0/13 when it came to hundreds and 50s he's come some significant distance in his batting. But these are long-seated technical issues and issues of approach with him. He'd probably benefit from moving state or getting county time outside of the Redbacks coaching system given all the SA left handers have a remarkably similar way of going about things.

I reckon any BBL player would be fine as long as they spent all the BBL in their hub. The Thunder had a 8 day break so it's possible that some players may have been allowed to leave for a quick break though. Of course they won't do it.
