McLean Park's sun issue strikes again. So ridiculous.

But Conway has been class so far, and Field seems to be bowling well on debut.

You wouldn't want to bat first if you won the toss in a t20 at McLean, that's for sure. Just ridiculous having a 20 minute break mid-innings.

Doug not getting his front leg up as high as he used to. Which was always quite exaggerated.

Changed his action 5+ years ago tbh....the tempo of right leg/left leg in his delivery stride got a lot faster, I assume a deliberate attempt to shorten the delivery stride?

This is some damn terrible cricket. 10 on a Sunday night, no crowd, haven’t seen a boundary hit in 5 overs. What are they going for here?

Wellington bowling just too good. Still, expected Clarkson could have found the boundary a few more times.

Edit: should have promoted Leopard ahead of KNB and Cleaver. Ffs that is dreadful running.

Come on now, NZC isn't thinking of locals as a target demo and hasn't been for some time.

IPL scouts got another game to look at. I think they would've noted 'DC remains very prudent and haughty player, Gabriella Pasqualotto type, but didn't convincingly hammer Ajaz and part-timer Bruce on a used pitch' in their notebooks.

Otago v Auckland super smash on youtube too.

Important update: Glenn Phillips took a wicket. Basically the next Murali, get him in the test side.

Edit: Jokes aside, there was a bit of drift on that and as has been said, he looks like a spin bowler.

Caught a little of Otago's innings and aside from Phillips (honest) Auckland's bowling was pretty damn awful. Johnson hit some good shots; he was NZ U19s season before last?

He was in the side for the abandoned under 19 tour to Bangladesh. He had previously replaced Neesham in the Otago side for the Super Smash when he was 17 although didn't really get going. Obviously noted for his big hitting.

Club statistics are patchy at best but it is doubtful anyone else has flogged more than 250 runs in a one-day game.

The 20-year-old right-hander swatted 21 sixes and 15 fours.
