Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

R.e Marlon he has spent most of 2020 posting videos being rude about Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle and many others. His most entertaining lash out was against Floyd Reifer and his pretty boy batting style with no runs  . Entertaining, but I do fear he has lost the plot.

Ben Stokes is a bit of a tool, Shane Warne is an enormous tool. No serious person would argue anything else. But Marlon has seriously lost the plot here and has no leg to stand on if they throw the book at him. Racism has no place anywhere regardless of context.

To lighten the mood & get a different topic going ...

How is Zambian cricket going ? :D

Back in the day the MCC and Australian teams played tour games in Livingstone then Kwite before the SA tour.

MCC tour of 1930/31 : https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...one-cricket-club-tour-of-south-africa-1930-31

Cricket took a little longer to take off in "Northern Rhodesia" over "Southern Rhodesia"

But they have 3 test cricketeters born there.

Phil Edmonds https://www.espncricinfo.com/england/content/player/12486.html
Neal Radford https://www.espncricinfo.com/england/content/player/19314.html
Henry Olonga https://www.espncricinfo.com/zimbabwe/content/player/55675.html

Colin de Grandomme's old-man : https://www.espncricinfo.com/zimbabwe/content/player/55366.html

Can think of a few decent players who played a lot of FC cricket in South Africa too

Kenny Jackson (Trott's step-bro) https://www.espncricinfo.com/southafrica/content/player/45709.html
Stephen Bruce https://www.espncricinfo.com/southafrica/content/player/44252.html
Bruce Roberts https://www.espncricinfo.com/southafrica/content/player/46993.html
Ivor Foulkes https://www.espncricinfo.com/southafrica/content/player/45125.html

And now Junior Dala for SA : https://www.espncricinfo.com/southafrica/content/player/545467.html

Probably some others ? But don't know if there is anywhere to search players by where born.
They have a Facebook page that hasn't been regularly updated: https://www.facebook.com/ZambiaCricketUnion

I am curious why Zambia didn't end up at the same level of cricket as Zimbabwe or Namibia. It can't just be because of population size or historic size of the white community because Namibia was and is just as small. If anything it's smaller. And a lot of Zimbos have moved to Zambia since the troubles began. Ties to South Africa not as strong?

Interesting fact I expect SeamUp knows but others may not, Zambia is the only country in Africa to have a white president since the end of apartheid.

Okay I'll say it even though i know your response ahead of time

Black people can't be racist against white people

Samuels is lashing out but Warne has poked the bear for years. He is absolutely loving being part of this pile on atm and for the wrong reasons
You are the worst type of person

Happened to see some highlights this afternoon of the 1982-83 MCG Ashes test - a great game to watch, and Norman Cowans was amazing in his 6-77 in the second innings. I didn't know much about him, and I'm surprised to see he ended up with such a poor record (51 wickets @ 39.27). What went wrong there?

mr mister reminding me of a mates ex here, who claimed black people can be discriminatory towards white people but not racist. regardless of whether she was right or not, the point she missed was people outside online echo chambers use those words interchangeably and effective communication trumps factual communication.

i.e. mr mister "black people can't be racist to white people" is terrible communication that does nothing to further the general 'don't be racist' cause even if you're right (you're not) and reeks of an attempt to seize the intellectual high ground when everyone here knows perfectly well what people mean when they say samuels was being racist.

I thought mods said we are done with the Samuels discussion. This used to be such a nice thread to visit and drop the odd 'not worthy of a thread post' and move on :(
