Dermo Sabba Abbott - top numbers in a batsman's game so far. Went for 11 in his first over, too.

How good to see Test vice-captain Travis Head among the runs? Bodes well for a break out summer a the top level. And added bonus of shitting TJB to tears. Win all round.

Would actually love to see Travis Head play the whole Test summer just to laugh at his pure ineptitude against any half-decent bowling

K.Pat with a fantastic chance to get a ton (or at the very least red-ink) and help NSW and his Australian dreams out

These pitches are annoyingly dead. Though it does play into my theory of "flatter decks are much better at sorting the wheat from the chaff regarding prospects than spicier pitches" so might be not a horrible thing in the long-run.

Feels like there's a lot more hundreds being scored so far than the equivalent first few Shield rounds of recent years. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

It's definitely a good sign, at least in moderation. A better representation of Test-standard pitches, separates the wheat from the chaff bowling-wise, encourages batsmen to learn to bat long periods.

From what I saw Green looked about high 130s last time I saw him, so certainly sharp but 145 may be overcooking things a bit. But more than pace what really stood out to me is his ability to swing the ball away while still hitting the deck and getting extra bounce, just looks like the sort of bowling that can get class batsman out, always thought it would be his main skill longterm up until quite recently
I don't want to over-egg this comparison but this could best be summarised as "he bowls a lot like Ben Stokes".

He's gonna carve up. Be coming in at 3/380 and going a run a ball from ball one. This is a great ton. Sets him up for the whole summer. Gonna be so good when they lift restrictions in Victoria and TJB gets to go down ad watch Trav ton up, just to complete a horror year for him.

Particularly with the ball. Dermo Abbott in the frame this summer. Ahead of all bar the current top four. And apparently can bat.

I've actually had a pretty decent year personally, all things considered. Lockdown wouldn't have affected me much at all if they hadn't closed the ****ing gyms.

Watching Travis miss Bumrah straight balls all summer will bump it up to an above average year
