I knew the t20 stuff was starting today but i just kind of assumed that they would be evening kickoffs so was surprised to see a number of games already started; obviously with no crowds they can start whenever.

Pissing down here in glos so no surprise the bristol game is off.
its a bloody shame

Every single game rain affected. It's a miracle we compete on an international level given the amount of play we actually get in each season

In fairness there was a high number of matches washed out in last years T20 Blast, Its bloody unlucky for some teams

After today its expected to be more dry in the UK, So hopefully there will be some action

Bess is leaving Somerset. Not sure if that's news or not, but I hadn't heard it before, but I don't follow the County game as studiously these days.

Whatever it takes!!!
I would be interested to see what Adil Rashid has to say about this. They can't brush it under the carpet if it comes from him, right?

I'd like to hear exactly what the racism involved. He has said he isn't going to keep quiet anymore but did actually say what anyone has done wrong. I wonder whether he felt on the outside when I came to team socials ect and that is what he alluded to when he said he occasionally got involved in things that as a Muslim he later regretted

Dodgy as hell but we need to hear from Adil Rashid and Ajmal Shahzad first to see what they have to say on the matter. If proven then sack people involved and do everything they can to eradicate it from the club. It simply can not be swept under the carpet.

He told Wisden.com another story about his early days in the game. "There was me, Adil Rashid, Ajmal Shahzad and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan. We're walking onto the field and one player said: 'There's too many of you lot. We need to have a word about that.'

I've had the same sort of comment thrown at me in a joking manner all the time, as have many others like me.

While it's rarely ever said with sinister intentions and you may even laugh it off, the volume of this crap you get day in and out eats at you and changes your behaviour in subtle ways that you won't even notice.

"There were times I did things to try and fit in that, as a Muslim, I now look back on and regret. I'm not proud of it at all."

This is a feeling all too familiar.

You subconsciously change so many little things to try and fit in. It's really hard to explain but you start seeing your culture as somehow less desirable.

The people making these comments always feel like they're pretty harmless and even humorous at times - and to be fair, in isolation that's often the case. It's important to acknowledge and find humor in our differences.

But these people need to understand that the daily grind of trying to fit in and being constantly reminded of how different you are is a ****ing tiring thing to live with.

You as an individual may not be racist and your one off comment may not be malicious, but I can guarantee the person it's directed to has heard it thousands of times and that's what makes it a problem.

The old "my sense of humour is everyone's sense of humour" thing strikes again. I have actually seen it drive people off even CW. Can only be so much more brutal out there in real life. No wonder this guy left the game. I mean, its one thing if he was not good enough for FC level but he was clearly someone who enjoyed playing cricket and could have still continued at least at club level but the fact that he left it altogether should raise alarms over there at Leeds.

I think this is a bad take. At least one person was made to feel like an outsider and it wore them down so much they quit. That’s a problem. Rafiq’s feelings don’t need to be signed off by other people to check if they’re valid.
