What about Rilee Roussow?
Incredibly friendly guy, so he probably won't take offense to your misspelling of his name. Probably slides into South Africa's ATG 8th XI.

edit: anyone ever done a SA Kolpak ATG XI? Or retired before their time due to non-cricketing factors XI?

SA XI:

Gibbs
De Kock *+
Du Plessis
Kallis (6)
De Villiers
Cronje (7) (Rhodes if he's unacceptable)
Klusener (5)
Pollock (2)
Ntini (3)
Tahir (4)
Donald (1)

I can't put Amla over Gibbs. Gibbs was a much more clutch player despite Amla's statistical superiority. His innings in the 434 game goes a long way here.
why does Amla have to open? Could you not put him at 3 over Faf?

200-3 after 30 and kallis walks in.

you'd be doing everything in your power as the oppo captain to make sure he doesn't get out.

In my SA side he'd come in first drop if a wicket fell in the first five overs. If he's not batting by the 20th over, he slides down to number 8/9. He's literally there to stabilise an early collapse and to bowl some overs.

Amla at 3 is a possibility. He'd play ahead of Kallis in that case.

Overdoing it, he is not the greatest batsman to up the run rate but if that's your idea, just play a good bowler who can tonk a couple.

Fanie De Villiers is under rated.
There are many bowlers who are considered good to great even though they played just a handful of games because of various reasons. For example, Jack Cowie and Frank Tyson. No reason why big man Fanie shouldn't be rated similarly. He debuted when he was almost 30 due to SA's isolation and then retired at 34. In 18 games he got a healthy average and wpm and managed 2 tenfers. That's very impressive.

Morkel over Ntini imo
Its a tight one for me... even the question of Steyn. But ultimately Ntini was always a difficult customer to hit in ODI's because of the awkward delivery angle. Morkel is similar, but still think Ntini, Steyn does not get in because of similarity to Donald.

I`m not overly fond of Gibbs due to his many many failures, but on his day genuine class! And Faf at 6 does not quite feel right, hopefully SA get a genuine quality finisher at 6 one day.
