Yeah out of the two clubs in for him last summer, we don't have the funds or space in the squad for Wilf now and Chelsea have signed Ziyech and are after Havertz so they're not in for him either. He's missed the boat.

edit: Chelsea were touted for this window if he didn't get his move to Arsenal.

Why would anyone want Zaha now? He was barely even a league average winger last season.
Wouldn't think Everton will be back in for him seeing as they are supposed to be getting James Rodriguez, Allan and Doucoure. Surely that is their budget done.

So Palace have signed QPR's Eze. Not someone I know a huge amount about, but apparently he played in the number 10 role for QPR and scored 14 goals last year. In other news, Zaha's desire to move on isn't exactly a surprise, but I still don't see one of the big clubs being interested. Perhaps moving on to a higher level will mean he'll be at Everton or Newcastle next season.
Eze is really good.

Sadly, this is true. One would think that the days when Chelsea or Tottenham might be interested are long gone. Andruid is probably right too, but I don't know whether that would appeal to Wilf. He doesn't strike me as someone who want his horizons broadened by playing in Greece or Eastern Europe, even for the opportunity of going out at the group stage of the Champions League.

Thanks, that'll do me. Being an oldie, I remember the days when the QPR number 10 meant Rodney Marsh, Stan Bowles, or the bloke who played in that role for them in the 1980s. At this point I need LT or Grecian to remind me of his name. As for Eze, a genuinely creative option behind Jordan Ayew has to be an upgrade on what we saw last season.

Yeah he's spoken before about feeling homesick when he moved away from London to join United. Even when he was at his peak I thought he was always worth more to Palace than he would be to anyone else, which would explain why all of the proposed transfers fell through.

Panathanikos, or whatever Greek/Eastern European that club can give him easy champions league football.
Cos there's loads of Greek clubs willing to splash out £80m on average Premier League players.

Zaha's ****ed it for himself by signing that new contract. It was a really dumb move for someone who apparently wanted to leave, as it now means that he's too expensive.

Is that his buyout clause? Wow! In that case he really is toast.

The new English domestic season is underway today with five League Cup ties and the Charity Shield. It all seems a bit odd. We’ve suddenly woken up six months later in League One and not too sure how it happened. :smartass:

Thank Gawd the football season has started again, felt like ages. Liverpool are clearly going to take another 30 odd years to win the Prem, they're over.

We beat Forest Green 2-1 in a streamed friendly. Some had no problem with the stream and some said it was pants. A familiar nationwide tale I suspect.

We beat Burnley today, not a bad way to end pre season. Means nothing but we have scored a few goals in pre season which makes a change.
