*Official* Pakistan in England 2020

For England fans, who do you think is the ideal 3rd quick away from home?

Anderson is close to done, Broad is pretty old too. Archer's obviously one and Wood deserves a crack but Woakes and Curran add nothing outside of England.
Olly Stone probably but constantly injured. Pace and bowls a nice length

Yep this is all fair, just look at the reaction after pretty much every away ashes. Still you look at a guy like Tim Murtagh just casually bowling England out for under 100 in a Test match last year.
Imagine the career Martin Bicknell could have had given he is probably the best county bowler of the last 30 years and got a handful of tests 10 years apart because our selectors were idiots.

Woakes has always struggled against short pitched bowling IIRC. It took our guys a couple of Tests to work that out on our last tour. Pakistan team management seem to have done their homework well.

haven't seen a few blokes in the mix but from who i have seen id still give woakes and curran a go when the duo retire. curran bowls a good length to swing it and woakes just needs to pitch the kookaburra up a little more. he bowls the 'unlucky' length.

If you've already got Archer and Wood there's no reason not to just pick the best swing bowler.

I think Woakes has improved as a bowler since the overseas tours folk are passing judgement on

Depends where. And Broad should be around for a while; he's four years younger than Anderson.

Was referring to Australia/New Zealand (more Australia). South Africa and the West Indies have weak enough batting lineups and are bowler-friendly enough that having a medium pacer as the 3rd quick is far from a liability, whereas Asia seems ripe for two spinners.
