Don't know why we can't just pick a bloke for home conditions only. When we go to subcontinent we pick two spinners to play. Why can't seamers ever be horses for courses?

I guess England don't really need to given they have had Broad and Anderson for the last hundred years. I would still love to see them pick one of those guys with great county records though, just to see what would happen.

Yep this is all fair, just look at the reaction after pretty much every away ashes. Still you look at a guy like Tim Murtagh just casually bowling England out for under 100 in a Test match last year.

yeah there have probably been a couple of gems lost. medium pace wobbling everywhere is awful to play against. really gets in your brain.

Another first game of series lost. Woakes can bat but he is a good 8 and in no form. Bonkers to put him at 7. Lawrence should get the nod but Crawley will.

For England fans, who do you think is the ideal 3rd quick away from home?

Anderson is close to done, Broad is pretty old too. Archer's obviously one and Wood deserves a crack but Woakes and Curran add nothing outside of England.

Yes a beauty to get Pope, and it was going to have to take something like that to get him.

A full smack in the head isn’t going to help a low in confidence Woakes settle at the crease. We need him to rekindle some of that old batting potential here for sure.
