Murali's peak period was from 1998 to 2008. That's 2 years in 90s and 9 years in 00s
Yeah, I had Warne, McGrath and Lara as 90's men which is probably unfair on them but their careers crossed the decade and I couldn't leave out Steyn or Gilchrist.

Murali, Ponting and McGrath definitely built their reputations more on their 00s exploits than their 90s career. Warne was better in the 90s. I associate Lara more with the 90s too. Tendulkar has claims to both decades but due to the lack of tests against quality opposition I associate him more with the 00s. Kallis and Sanga were definitely 00s players. Waugh was a 90s player though he did very well in the 00s.
