That's one of the best balls I've seen. Apart from one boundary by Burns, all the runs have been lucky squirts to third man. This is brilliant bowling.

Is this the biggest ever difference in number of Tests between the opening bowling attacks of two sides?

Possibly. Also one of the biggest differences between how well they've used the new ball.
What will really interest me is how well they bowl in the next test. This is brilliant stuff, but will they repeat it in the next?

Our guys were brilliant in Southampton and off the pace in Manchester. England played the same attack for the first time in this test and to me they looked jaded.

Could be that Pakistan's youth gives them an advantage in this covid affected series.

Whatever it takes!!!
The Prince was in that kind of form too. Pretty sure he would have had Man of the Match performances in both semi and finals and taken Windies to the trophy but for that ball, which was basically unplayable.

This batting lineup was a great idea of course.
Well, quite. Maybe a bit over-confident after winning two tests against WI, but you'd think they would have done their homework and realised that Pakistan are rather better. Whether Crawley would have lasted long is debateable, but playing him at 3 would have provided a bit more insurance further down the order even if it meant making a tough call about the bowlers.

Naseem time boys... They need to get him in. Enough of Abbas. And Afridi just cannot seem to hold to a length and line for too long. Maybe he will learn with age but he should be running through sides with his other attributes. This just lets him down.

That nut to get Stokes was so utterly top drawer. Saw Stokes coming down, pulled back his length slightly, ball pitches middle and clips the top of off. Gotta admire the craftsmanship.

Doubt we'll see a better ball this series. Kid's not averaging 20 by accident, obviously.

Shaheen had a hard paper round though, eh? Might've even had two.

Agreed. It took the ball of the tournament to get Lara out in this match. All tournament he was sublime. Was toying around with some pretty decent bowling attacks. South Africa in the QFs come to mind

^^ That's a massive stretch. They choked in that match against Australia but they lost earlier in the tournament to Kenya FFS.

Not sure why he switched to round the wicket so soon. He had Root in all sorts with the in-duckers.
