As with early Lyon when Wade was keeping, I don't think it's at all fair to fully judge Bess's qualities as a Test bowler until he has an actual competent keeper behind the stumps. Spin bowling at this level is hard enough without having to worry about dropped chances and missed stumpings.

He has actually done relatively well but he needs to find more variation against right handers. Not saying a doosra or anything but some overspin from outside off.
