I'd like to see more aggression and positive intent in the morning and whenever our 2nd innings is. The bowling is excellent so let's get it off that line and length, or at least try.

Blackwood did it to some extent, Holder has looked nice and positive. We were bowling just as well this morning until Stuart Broad trolled us off our line and length.

Worth a go anyway. Hopefully Rakheem gets some runs.
Yeah the problem with such a weak batting line up is that it begins to weaken the bowlers as well

Imagine if Gabriel got to put up his feet for two days with 400 on the board because Holder didn't feel the need to bowl first every time

Whatever it takes!!!
Holder bowling first every time is basically an attempt to avoid a collapse and being behind in the game right off the bat, I think. Poor captaincy and management if that is how they view this everytime even when it is obvious these are special circumstances.

I see Broad's grown out of the celebrappeal phase and into the the celebrate phase

That montage of short balls to Dowrich looks a lot like bullying.

Anyway both players haven't looked in any trouble early on. They're going to avoid the follow on comfortably.

i said on comms last night before the windies got out there with a daunting total their hope could be to fall within striking distance (~50-100) and hope to roll england early with the ball

obviously there’s a long long way they have got to go before that, and all it takes is a wicket here to spoil that; but they have a path

Realistically Holder needs to make the most of that opportunity and go big for them to have any chance

Batting time would be handy too. I imagine Gabriel and Roach would love a rest

Follow on averted. I expected WI to get bowled out for around 200, hopefully this partnership can take them a bit beyond that.

Woakes can look really pedestrian sometimes
He really can, yeah.

Speed gun has him at about the same velocity as Jimmeh (or close as), but never seems to hurry the batters like Anderson does.

To be fair to Woakes though, he's already had a far more substantial test career than I pegged him for when he first emerged.

Genuinely good bloke too, so don't wanna bag him too much.
