Moooo
If he's driving so sweet, I'll position the mid-off a bit straighter.
It’s not doing *that* much. They’ve bowled really really well on a helpful but not atrocious deckI swear we're going to get bowled out for 22 on this.
Not taking anything away from our bowlers, who are up there with the best in tests (statistically the second best behind India since 2018).
But our batting is awful and this looks tricky.
Hardly anyone reaches that level, but when you see a 22 year old racking up huge FC numbers, no obvious technical flaws and a strong start to his test career, you have to think he has as good a chance as anyone. To clarify, I do think Pope is good, just don't see him reach the Root levels.
I stated last 12 months... i.e. the last year or so. I had not realised he debuted in India the previous year.If only that was the criteria you’d posted then...
It doesn’t have to be doing a great deal, very few batting line-ups in the world today can cope when the ball deviates off the deck or there’s enough consistent swing around. England’s current line-up even in their own conditions don’t have the technique to cope. It’s not doing *that* much. They’ve bowled really really well on a helpful but not atrocious deck

Damn it.. I can't spend all Saturday posting on here this weekGood on the players to want this over with before the server move though
Oh yeah for sure, but he's much older. Pope is one of the best prospects around, Labu is just one of the best batsmen around.Fair enough.. But I think many thought Root was special even straight after his debut. Not that England can't do with an Ian Bell in this middle order but I actually am with Burgey on this one. Think Labu is better.
Okay thanksYeah.. he didn't run in hard enough. When you see drops like this, you realize how good the Jadeja catch was in that World T20 game against Bangladesh.. The famous 144WWW one, the second W was the Jaddu catch, so much tougher than the one Dhawan took, and why it was genius captaincy to move Jaddu to that spot.
