ODI Debut Chronology draft

This draft felt a bit different to the alphabetic drafts. The staggered endings gave a different sense of hustle at the end.

I was hoping Bumrah would slide to me, but I'll take Jofra Archer instead. Speculative pick, but we're at that end of the draft. Gonna be an ATG ODI bowler.

Adam Gilchrist +
Gordon Greenidge
Hashim Amla
Joe Root
Kevin Pietersen
Clive Lloyd *
Ravi Jadeja (5)
Harbhajan Singh (4)
Shane Bond (2)
Jofra Archer (3)
Curtly Ambrose (1)

Pretty happy, outstanding pace attack led by Curtly and Bond, Archer to provide even more pace, then two good economical spinners. Lloyd can bowl a few mediums and KP and Root can bowl a bit of troll spin.

Batting is pretty dynamic. Greenidge and Gilchrist (now known as "The 2 Gs") would be a savage left/right combo in the opening overs. Amla and Root can provide the stability before Lloyd and KP take full toll at the back end of the innings. Jadeja very capable and Harbhajan and Bond can bat a bit.

Cheers ankit, I've really enjoyed these last few drafts. Good fun tactically.

You've done a great job of running it and you came up with the idea for this specific draft. :)

Art is always a mashup of what has come before - I merely applied a board game concept (variable turn order/ time track) to drafting (which is also a concept in board games). It is a lot of fun though, I must admit. Breaks things up from the usual "who is the next best player" decision making used in most drafts. There's a lot more fuzzy logic and interactivity in these drafts.

Whatever it takes!!!
Ah crap.. Red Hill's side remains awesome.. Only drawback is Jadeja as an ODI allrounder at 7. He can't really hit out and you may actually prefer Archer or Harbhajan or both batting above him... Heck even Ambrose if its like the last over or two and you just want someone to swing their bat.

You shits.. I had no idea I could lose all 3 of Bumrah, Rabada and Archer. If I am not wrong, I get two picks now, right?

Fakhar Zaman (2017)
Lungi Ngidi (2018)

Teuton

International Captain
Final xi

Sourav Ganguly
Quinton de Kock wk
Virat Kohli
Brian Lara
Zaheer Abbas
Arjuna Ranatunga c
Lance Klusener
Daniel Vettori
Malcolm Marshall
Kagiso Rabada
Craig McDermott

Super batting, Klusener can move up the order if it gets to the final 10 or so overs. Marshall, McDermott and Rabada are all great wicket takers. Vettori underrated but does the job as a spinner and can support the batsmen too.

Very happy with the side although I was hoping to nab either Archer or Bumrah. Did not realize so many sides left their 3rd seamers for this late. But a new ball pair of Starc and Ngidi who can also return for some very miserly death overs bowling, Plunkett the best middle overs seamer of the last WC cycle, Rashid Khan with his unorthodox quickish leg spin, fantastic fielding and under rated late order hitting. ATGs in Viv, Bevan MSD and Starc, Potential great in Rashid Khan. Fakhar Zaman has good numbers already in a young career and a big performance in an ICC final against the best side in the world at that time. Great ODI player in Crowe. The best wicket keeper for LO games in Dhoni and also one of the best ever LO captains. Awesome side even if I say so myself. :) Would love to see this bunch in action.

Totally missed Hooper and Astle as the back up bowlers and Richards, Bevan, Crowe and even Zaman can bowl when in a pinch as they are all slightly better than total part timer bowlers. :)

And Astle and Zaman will have the licence to go for the bowling given the quality of batting to come and Hooper can be a floater to be used based on situation as in a big chase, I would rather have Bevan and MSD man 5 and 6. Hooper's extraordinary talent and range wil ensure he can take on any bowler on any track if he walks in at the slog.

Your batsmen, definitely. Your bowlers not so much. At least not by all time standards. Still, I can't believe the names you managed to grab.

Lockie Ferguson doesn't have the likes of Alec Stewart overhyping but he's been very bit as good as Archer

There's more or less something lacking in every side which makes things very interesting
