ODI Debut Chronology draft

And Viv Richards
Bevan and Dhoni fill the same hole in a team. It's crazy seeing both of them in the same team. Seeing Viv in a team isn't crazy at all.

Personally I think hb is going to struggle to assemble a decent attack now so I'm interested to see who he drafts from now on.

Whatever it takes!!!
It was not by choice mate. :) I wanted to get Viv coz to me, while he may not be as far ahead of the next best, he is still the Bradman of ODI cricket. And then I was pushed all over the place and lost some great bowlers. Ended up drafting the middle order first.

Thanks for making that choice for me KK. I'll take Shoaib Akhtar. (1998-03-28)

Ah was hoping I might just get Shoaib or Symonds but was fairly surprised I managed to get both Murali and then Kallis so can't really complain.

Makhaya Ntini (1998-01-16)

Haha there was me thinking that pick might give me an outside chance of getting de Villiers.

I was safe from you because you only had 5 players before you picked Ntini. No way was I going to take chance with Teuton who is sitting on 7 players.

RedHill is playing with an interesting strategy. He made 2 big jumps for Ambrose and Gilchrist and now he needs to pick 7 more players including at least 4 bowlers

Yes, completely agree. I think no one other than these 2 deserves to play as all-rounder in an ATG XI.
I actually don't see any way you can put Flintoff in an ATG ODI XI - the only place he had any success batting was at 4/5 and there is no way you can justify selecting him at that position as it will displace a far superior batsman.

His record at 5 is very very good, and his record at 7 is ok. When he's your 5th bowler I see no reason why you couldn't select him at 5 when he averaged 46 there at a SR of 94.

So let me get this straight - the only spinner to have won two world cups, with a bowling and batting average in the mid 20s went unpicked?

I thought for sure he was the best pick for hb, kk and mrmr. Oh well, means you folks have to scrap harder to get decent spinners.

Trust me, there are many really good ODI spinners left. I did consider this lefty you are talking about but it didn't fit in the plan.
