ODI Debut Chronology draft

I almost thought Hayden would skip through the cracks. Ganguly, Flower, Kirsten and Rhodes all went unpicked.

Ganguly was picked.

I was going to go Flower followed by Pollock with just Teuton's pick in between. But I didn't want to risk losing Pollock. Klusener wouldn't have been good consolation for me because I already have Imran as all-rounder.

Chanders batted a significant number of innings in every position from 1-7 and averaged around 40 in each of them. His strike rate was pretty ordinary at 70 but given the quality of batsmen around him for the majority of his career it's understandable he took a bit more time to get himself set.

I would actually have preferred Klusener myself. Was hoping someone would have been drawn to one of the other good options.

International Captain
I was planning on going a double of flower and Klusener until I remembered the rule and he and Ganguly were both 92

Yeah but I am not fully switched on, preparing for another 12 day intense lockdown and all...

was tossing up between Martyn, Flower and Jonty Rhodes for a while but Martyn's record as a batsman really is quite superior

Of course it means I'm gonna have to find me a WK elsewhere but whatever

I'm not sure if this is the right pick, but he just seems to sort of fit with what I need right now.

Am lacking a spinner, am lacking an explosive scorer, am lacking a real X factor player. He might not come off it every time but

Shahid Afridi (1996-10-02)

true yeah

another advantage is he can open or bat 7.

im sure later on that versatility will be necessary if i miss out on a player i really want

Akram and Donald is essentially the perfect ODI pairing. The razor sharp bouncers, cunning slower balls, hooping innies and outies as well as reverse would unsettle any batsman.Thankfully Afridi will neutralise that somewhat.
