ICC Emerging Nations Trophy (Sim League X)

Think Jimmy Adams' loss of form with that injury he had cutting himself was the moment the Windies decline began, IMO. He would have been the perfect captain for the kind of team you had going around then. A team like:

Campbell
Chanderpaul
Lara
Hooper
Adams
Simmons
Jacobs (wk)
Rose
Dillon
King
spinner

would have been a very good one with everyone playing to their potential.
Hooper could have been the spinner, but we needed a genuine wicket-taker. Ramnarine, Nagamootoo, or McGarrell

Actually just regarding my team, Ewald Steenkamp is fine right? Can't see any reason why he wouldn't but just wanted to check

Was one of Namibia's brightest hopes for a while, but he drifted from the game at about 24, last I saw he was doing a job in accounting or somesuch. Turns 32 tomorrow so he is still plenty young enough to make a theoretical comeback but having been gone for so long it's highly unlikely

Steenkamp is all good, perfectly eligible. Though you do currently have a total of four 'keepers in your squad so if you wanna make some changes I'd be okay with that.

Who's the 4th out of curiosity? Steenkamp, Kotze and van Schoor the three that come to mind

Although in a sense it is vaguely realistic, Namibia do tend to have a lot of batsman that can keep wicket to varying degrees, and those who don't keep tend to bowl some part time stuff

Gerhard Erasmus I do believe. Though, as you said, he's a P/T keeper mostly. Bonafide 'keeper in-game though.

Ok that's a touch unexpected, tend to recall now he has kept a couple of times but never on a regular basis as far as I know

As or recent times Erasmus has been working on some rancid looking but vaguely useful in T20 offspin

Not sure if Marcuss is still keen on this considering he's been active in other threads lately, but hasn't posted in here. In the spirit of getting this started does anyone wanna take over Ireland?

I'm ready to go. Just need Marcuss to post as Ireland manager or someone to take on Ireland should he remain absent.

I can be a caretaker.

My knowledge if Irish cricketers will be tested here. Might burnout lol.
But I will gladly take care of them.
Thanks for Guiness, Ireland :)

Thanks for all the patience. We're poised to kick things off now. With pitch conditions in mind I ask everyone to post their playing XI for the first leg of matches. If you have previously posted your playing XI let me know if you would like to keep it unchanged, or just quote your original post. Best of luck everyone!
