Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

Last night I dreamt that I was there for the first 'Bodyline' test match at the SCG and witnessing that resilient knock from Stan McCabe
Bloody hell that is impressive.

Yesterday I came across Clayton Lambert on SA domestic season scorecard. What a unique character. Used to commentate on his own batting and sing reggae songs like he had a walkman whilst batting and the bowler ran in.

I was looking at a scorecard of that test last night. Somehow it got into subconscious...and came into my dream.
What the lack of cricket can do...I time traveled to the 1930s!

Clayton Lambert was one interesting fella. He's from the same county as I am, Berbice. That batting stance was replicated multiple times by me as a kid lol.
I don't know how he got to play domestic cricket in SA.

He played for US (or Canada?) In a few internationals, if I'm not mistaken.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has opened its comprehensive archive of match footage and programming to its broadcast partners, giving fans throughout the world the opportunity to relive some of the greatest cricketing moments of the last 45 years as they stay at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The move will enable fans around the world to watch memorable cricket matches, highlights and ICC films at a time live sport programming stands disrupted due to the Corona Virus. ICC events dating back to 1975, including the men’s and women’s ICC Cricket World Cups and T20 World Cups, the Champions Trophy as well as the U19 World Cups have been made available.

Additionally fans can join in the fun via Watch Parties on the ICC Facebook page where some of the most iconic games in the history of the sport will be replayed in full. Match highlights and tournament recaps will also be delivered through ICC social channels and the ICC website and mobile app and fans can get involved and vote on the memories they want to see from the ICC archive.
Incredible that it took a Global Pandemic for the higher ups to release the sacred footage

why were they even hoarding it to begin with

I'm sure they're well aware that once they do this the footage will essentially become part of the public domain.

still seems like a PR stunt (and it's because the copyright situation is unclear, it's not wholly their footage)
Seems like it will only be classic World Cup (OD & T20) & Champions Trophy matches, which kinda makes me think the ICC does indeed own the footage. Then again, I really don't know for sure.

What I do happen to know is that all broadcast footage of ICC events post-2015 is the property of Star Sports.
