Nasty bad punctuation in this post. Sad.
c'mon desist dude, what gavaskar said was 100% dehumanizing and racist, you don't actually have to use the "n" word or explicitly call a black person a monkey for a comment to be racist...
our society normalizes to an insane amount what most of the rest of world considers outright racism and bigotry...i have heard plenty of such comments in supposedly civilized settings that go unchallenged and even accepted because as i said people normalize that sort of behavior...between blatant casteism and contempt for the darker skin tone in general, us indians are some of the most bigoted people i have seen...
thankfully the younger generation seems to be more and more aware of what is really offensive and just plain outright wrong so i have hope for a better future, from my perspective we need to marginalize communalism, religious fundamentalism in our country, they are our biggest obstacle for a more tolerant, accepting society...
Yeah, thanks, anyway, it would be good if we could back to discussing the racist.Commenting on people's language coz they have no other point to go after someone. Sadder.
Yeah the fact that it was clearly premeditated makes it genuinely sinister. He had time to go home, stew on it for a few months or years or whatever, pen his thoughts down, have it go through an editor and then publish it in a book that he knew lots of people would read. It was a racist remark and he should've known better.
Very disappointed. Guys like him and Border make me sick.
Him too. One does not excuse the other.Lehmann?
Exactly, great point. Thanks for calling out this intellectual dishonesty.Him too. One does not excuse the other.
Him too. One does not excuse the other.
Isn’t it just?This is a great thread.
And this is from the same bloc that were berating TOTAB for throwing some coins over a balcony for a bit of youthful high jinx. Which isn't racist in any way.Fmd. Imagine this melt if Greg Chappell wrote the same things in a book in 1981.
