It has been nice to see the youngsters do well. Particularly on the batting side. I have overall been impressed with the seam bowling overall that I`ve seen this competition. Budaza surprised me. Not necessarily top international level but I felt good quality FC level bowling.

Guys like him and Tait are good finds. Pity Burger wasn't playing. Along with Jansen, all of a sudden a collection of left-armers.

CSA are also looking at postponing the rest of the domestic season. They also canned a tour to Pakistan for fatigue reasons so I highly doubt the Proteas will play any domestic cricket.

Durban – The KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union has taken note of the national government implementation of a state of disaster to combat the coronavirus pandemic and supports the decisive steps taken by the president.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins are due to host the VKB Knights in the first semi-final of the Momentum One Day Cup tomorrow (Tuesday 17 March) starting at 1:30pm. However there are important new factors that need to be taken into account regarding this fixture.

The union will be engaging Cricket South Africa along with all relevant stakeholders in a meeting at midday today (Monday 16 March), and the final decision on the fixture will be communicated later today.

With significant ticket sales for the match and a groundswell of hometown support for the Hollywoodbets Dolphins, the union is grateful for the interest in this match, but insists that whatever decisions are taken will be done in the best interests of all the players, staff and fans.

The Western Province Cricket Association has heeded the call by the President of South Africa to take swift, purposeful and collective action immediately relating to COVID-19.
​To this end, the WPCA offices and Newlands Cricket Ground, is under lockdown until further notice. This means that:
Majority of its staff will work remotely
All club, youth and any other form of cricket is cancelled
All Board and subcommittee meetings are cancelled
You are kindly requested not to visit Newlands Cricket Ground during this time to exercise social distancing and prevent the spread of the virus.

An assessment will be made on a weekly basis to consider the ongoing need to remain under lockdown.

"This is an unprecedented event in our time and it is crucial to make decisive calls in order to ensure the safety of all our stakeholders. We thank our President Cyril Ramaphosa for showing strong leadership during this time and take heed of his call to business to take preventative measures," expressed WPCA CEO Nabeal Dien.

Andrew Birch has officially retired from cricket.

Great domestic servant who whilst not the most talented was a tireless hard worker. He loved getting into a battle. Fierce competitor.

Probably goes back to the family job of breeding and working with thoroughbred racehorses.
