***Official*** India in New Zealand 2020

Whatever it takes!!!
I like Vihari. Very pretty player to watch. And Rahul is more aesthetically pleasing across all his shots than Rohit for me. And honestly, Kohli in fulll flow is better than anyone in world cricket even from a watchability perspective for me.

Woke up and tuned in just before the tea break, looks like a very good day for NZ overall considering Southee and Boult apparently weren't spot on with the new ball. Jamieson showed why he should have played in Sydney ahead of Henry, good on him. Need to start building depth in the pace stocks now that the first choice trio are all 30+, this is a good start.

watched some highlights. no shame in that from india. green af. the only shame should be some of those blokes playing the short stuff terribly.

nz really should aim to bowl india out for less than 150. looks easy to 45 all out on that deck.

Right but it's Wellington. Wouldn't be surprised if it looked like a road by Day 3. You can't really just rely on making what's a good score for the conditions if the conditions are likely to change significantly to your detriment.

I know shubman Gil ****ed up in the last practice game but the kid made 82, 201* and 135 or something similar to that in the 3 innings, he played vs new zealend A, its obvious he's use to the conditions, the fact he wasn't even given a go at 6 over vihari amazes me, kid averages 70 in first class at his age and they just don't seem to want to find room for him.

Problem is by not picking Gill you are knocking his confidence and belief that he belongs at international level.
if not getting selected for the side at this stage of his career knocks his belief that much then he's probably not cut out to play for India to begin with

According to Stuff, play can’t start before 11.30am because of the Indian TV rights. What idiot agreed to that deal? Oh right, David White. I just hope we don’t get more rain, because it is going to be pretty hard to catch up on lost overs.

Good crown turn out yesterday, enjoyed the day thoroughly but for the weather post tea session. Looks like it's going to be another on and off day today as well. There was not a lot of pace in the pitch like it's generally been this season but tacky bounce and enough movement off the deck. We didn't necessarily bowl the best but good enough for a first day of the test series. There's still room for improvement with the ball which is great. Crowd almost seem disappointed when Pujara and Kohli got out. Looked like some paid to to watch those guys bat haha... Rahane was outstanding, lovely technique and plays the ball so late. Loads of patience as well. Kohli was well set up by Kyle, few bumpers and one slightly wide and Kohli went hard at it. Hoping India will bat out the session without too many runs on the board which will help us. If we are in before lunch we will be tested as well. If we can bowl India out for under 100 and maybe an hour or so after lunch that'll be perfect time for us to bat. I'm expecting Indian bowlers to come hard at us no doubt. Boult hit the areas really well and so did Jamieson.

Shaw will benefit if he doesn't go all that well this series. That will convince him to work out better technique and not play shots falling over. I feel because his head is always outside of the stumps he doesn't judge the line and length of the ball all that well. When there is width he'll go well but when there isn't and the ball is doing a bit he will continue to struggle.

I thought Kohli should now be looking back and wondering if he should have batted in the warm up game on a similar deck in Hamilton. If he got out like this there he would have worked on it. He missed a golden opportunity.

Yeah this is beyond a joke. I'm ok with the later starts-the Indian audience is huge and it's big $. But , you can't change the rule of starting earlier to play catch up overs. That's always existed.

That rule's been superseded by another rule that says the BBCI can do whatever the f**k they like.

That rain seemed to come out of nowhere yesterday. I agree with nzfan, I was surprised at the large turn out for a Friday.

Expecting a big crowd today since it’s more than likely that Taylor will be batting at some stage.

Partly cloudy again in Wellington but rain overnight which I got stuck in.

That's just stupid. Those who will wake early would do so any ways to watch the match and those who are not interested will not watch any ways.
