I dunno I kinda feel like CW is weirdly high on Jimmy too

For the most part he’s still sort of neither here nor there, and he’s approaching veteran status. Unlike Athlai I don’t think a good 15 game run of ODIs makes him some sort of elite commodity

Just to be clear, when I say he’s ‘neither here nor there’ I do recognise that he’s had a very good last 12 months in ODIs. I’m not saying his form has been iffy. More that in the overall scheme of things I can’t see that he’s established himself as particularly dependable in either of his disciplines.

That was never a catch for Saini. Pet peeve of mine when commentators/team mates have a go at you for correctly judging a non-catch (may have some experience of this as an outfield slug)

i agree, i think we just get very defensive of neesham because certain other players are fixtures in this side and have had one or two good games in 5 years but never get the same sprays from the commentators.

Looks like CDG keeps getting sold down the river but pretty sure he’s the one who keeps calling himself through for non runs?

I'm not defensive of Jimmy, I don't think he's a superstar and I certainly want him to get better with both bat and ball...but I just feel like the constant criticism is far over the top when considered how other members of the side are talked about. If they went hard on every single player, sweet. Jimmy ideally would ice more games. But it's not the case.

Geez I love CdG. He just does CdG things - like almost get out caught on the boundary in the first five balls for a SR of 100, hit sixes from nowhere against bowlers everyone else has struggled against, almost running himself out horrendously, etc

It seems to be Hesson and McMillan who have it in for him. Smith and Elliott seemed quite fair when he was batting just now.

Yeah Grant's not going to go hard at him, Doull and Styris were not to the level that Jimmy's former coaches went deep, but they were applying a level of criticism that no one else gets.
